And just so everyone knows, chivalry is not dead!!! When I bought my dinner on campus last night, the sweetheart who works there (with whom I chat when he's working) gave me a discount on my food! The total--with tax--came to less than what my most expensive item was. At first I thought he had keyed in the price incorrectly, but when I pointed out the price of my fruit cocktail (yes, that was the expensive luxury item, according to Food Services anyway), he kind of smiled and said, "Shhh..." Wasn't that sweet? Despite writing an essay that I was a little disappointed with, yesterday shaped up to be a really good day!
