I began my night with The Golden Globes with the hope that--if nothing else--Peter Jackson be recognized for what an achievement directing The Lord of the Rings (three pictures simultaneously, no less!) is.

And he was. And more.

Howard Shore was honoured for his beautiful, evocative score, and Shore, Fran Walsh and Annie Lennox were honoured with a Best Song statuette for "Into the West."

But the icing on the cake?

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King was deemed the Best Motion Picture - Drama by the Hollywood Foreign Press.

Four for four.

Bring on Tuesday!*

* = Academy Award nominations are announced this Tuesday, January 27. The awards themselves will be handed out on February 29th.
