The Stratford Festival's Fall 2002 production of King Lear is getting more much deserved attention. The production is being taken to the Lincoln Center in New York in February 2004! If you can get tickets to see this production (with Canadian Christopher Plummer [yes, Captain von Trapp] in the title role), do. It'll be time very well spent. Each member of the cast (with the exception of James Blendick)--but especially Plummer--is brilliant in his/her role.
